ONE INDIA- GREAT INDIA CONCERT

The Bombay Catholic Sabha unit of St John Bosco Church held a concert entitled One India - Great India on 15th August 2008 on the occasion of the countrys' 62nd Independence Day. Six schools from in the vicinity of St John Bosco Church accepted the invitation to participate in this concert. More than 150 students from the six schools which included Don Bosco High School, St. Annes High School, Suvidyalaya High School, Vijay Nagar High School ( Primary and Secondary Section), Our Lady of Velankani High School and Acharya Narendradev School participated in various events like Skits, Songs and Dances which were based on the theme National Integration and Unity in Diversity.

The chief guest of the function was the Rector and Parish Priest of the Don Bosco Borivli Institution, Rev. Fr. Ronald Menezes. The function was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Ronald Menezes with the lighting of Samay along with Mr. Dolphy D'Souza, President of the Bombay Catholic Sabha Central Unit and Advocate Raphael D'Souza, Chairperson of the St. John Bosco Church BCS Unit.

The skits and plays put up by the children conveyed beautiful messages which spread the spirit of patriotic fervor in the more than 500 people who had collected to view this concert. The theme Unity in Diversity was well accepted by the audience. Keep India United and make India great by contribution from each and every citizen, irrespective of his caste, creed and religion was preached by all the participants through their songs and dances.

In his final words of encouragement, Rev. Fr. Ronald Menezes commended the efforts put in by the BCS St John Bosco Church Unit and all the students and teachers of the schools that participated in the event. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
