On 2nd October 1988, all the parishes of Borivli alongwith other peace loving groups of Borivli embarked on a peace march to promote non violence. The march was flagged off from St. Francis High School near IC church and the route included, IC Church, St Francis high school, St Francis Technical Institution, Bhagwati Hospital, Flyover, Aquaria Junction, St Lawrence School, Exsar road, Shanti Ashram, Mahatre Towers and culminated at the IC Grounds. More than 3000 people participated in the march and at the IC Grounds, more than 5000 people had collected. The entire congregation took a pledge for peace and the proceedings ended at 11.30 am with the singing of the national anthem.

The uniqueness of this march was the silence that was observed. Not a single slogan was shouted. People carried placards and banners which conveyed the message of the purpose of the march. Excellent co-operation was rendered by the MHB Police station and Traffic cops. The entire march was completed without a single untoward incident.
