18^th Sunday of the Liturgical Year

Monday 4^th August is the feast of St. John Mary Vianney, patron saint of Parish Priests. However we will be celebrating the feast on next Sunday. (10^th August, 2008)

Wednesday 6^th August, we will be celebrating the feast of Transfiguration of Our Lord.

From tomorrow /today, we will begin the Sunday School for Std. X students. The morning batch will be at the normal time, i.e. after the children’s Mass. The evening batch will begin at 4.30 p.m. They can attend the Mass thereafter.

Since we are in the year of the WORD OF GOD, there is another venture, we would like to introduce. You are requested to read the first 10 chapters of the Gospel of St. Mathew, for the month of August. You will be given a set of questions based on the same. The next month you will be asked to read the next 10 chapters. Hopefully with the reading and the quiz, you will have assimilated quite some detail of the WORD OF GOD. For your quiz questions, contact the parish office during the week.

There will be a meeting of all parents of children who are preparing to receive first Holy Communion, on 17^th of August, at 9.30 a.m.

Tomorrow / today, there will be a meeting of the heads of Lay Associations. The Theme will be “RESOLVING CONFLICT ………… THE PAULINE WAY”. All the concerned individuals have received a personal invitation and hence are aware of the details. The meeting will be held in hall No. III.

Articles for Bosco Beams are welcome. The last date to receive your articles is 15^th August, 2008

Those who wish to have a copy of the Bible Diary for the year 2009, can give their names and the amount Rs. 90/- to the parish office or to the Salesian cooperators.

Don Bosco Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, announces the commencement of a 3 year B.Sc. degree course in Hotel Management & Catering Technology, approved by University of Mumbai at their campus in Kurla. For details, please look up the notice board.

There are a lot of job vacancies available through the Don Bosco Recruitment Services, Matunga. The details are put up on the notice board in the school corridor.

A reminder to all those who have not paid their community welfare fund, to do so at the earliest.

The SVP will have a newspaper drive on the 2^nd Sunday of August. Kindly cooperate with them in this matter.

The Parish Council will meet today, after this Mass.

The Youth group will meet tomorrow / today after the 9.30 a.m. Mass.

The Bible Cell will meet tomorrow / today after the evening Mass in hall No. I

Thanks to Mr. Blaise Gomes and his team from Yogi North, “A” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.

Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Albert D’souza and his team from Yogi North ‘B’ zone.
