Ascension of our Lord

Tomorrow / today is the feast of Ascension.

6^th May is the feast of St. Dominic Savio.

On the occasion of the feast of Pentecost, our Parish will be conducting a night vigil on 10^th May, from 9.00 p.m. to 12.00 mid-night. For further details, please see the notice board.

On the Pentecost day, 11^th May, 2008, the Archdiocese is organizing an All Mumbai Multilingual Prayer Service with the Eucharist from 4.00 p.m. onwards at St. Paul’s School Grounds, Dadar. For details, please see the notice board.

Admissions are open for “The Ministry of The WORD” program to be held at the Goregaon Seminary. The program aims at equipping lay people to experience the saving power of WORD OF GOD in their lives and out of that experience to communicate God’s WORD to others in the parish. This is a 2 year programme. By the end of the study stage, the candidate enters the probation stage. For the new academic year admissions will begin on June 1^st 2008. (Those interested in taking up this commitment seriously, the fees will be borne by the Parish)

The summer special for children entitled “Fullness of Joy” has begun for the age group of 5- 15 years. The programme consists of Bible studies, games and sports and will conclude on 17^th May. All Catholic Children of our parish are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. Those who wish to join are welcome.

Pre-baptismal course for parents to be, will be held on 7^th , 8^th , 14^th and 15^th of June. Kindly register your name at the parish office.

A musical prize has been set up in memory of late Fr. Dominic Almeida. The prize is entitled Fr. Dominic Almeida prize for Church Music. This prize is for children who are regular for the evening Mass during the holidays and join in the Choir and also Altar servers who are regular for the Masses, are eligible for this prize.

We thank the youth, especially Fiona Gomes and her dedicated team of young volunteers for conducting the tele games on Thursday 1^st May. Also Thanks to Fr. Allwyn and the entire youth group under him, for the smooth conduct of the game. Thanks also to all the participants and spectators without whom this mega event would not have been possible.

The next issue of our Parish Bulletin is in the process of being published. You are requested to send in your Articles, news and views and also advertisements latest by 5^th May 2008.

The Parish is organizing a picnic for the Parish Pastoral Council members, Eucharistic Ministers, Sunday School Catechists and the Choir members, excluding children’s Choir. The picnic is scheduled for Saturday, 17^th May and the place will be Suvidha at Gorai. Members of the above groups are requested to confirm your presence so as to help us make the necessary arrangements.

A reminder, to all those who have not paid their Community Welfare Fund (CWF), to do so. As the new academic year is fast approaching, there is the need to disburse funds for education.

Thanks to Mr. Anthony Fernandes and his team from Gorai II ‘D’ zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.

Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Lucas D’mello and his team from Gorai II “E” zone.

Last Sunday’s collection amounted to Rs.16,323/-
