14th Sunday of the Liturgical Year


We congratulate all the children who have been initiated into the rite of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. We hope and pray that they realize the importance of this step in their lives.


At the last Parish Pastoral Council meeting, we realized that the Easter House Blessings were not really fruitful for a number of reasons:

  1. People were absent

  2. Only maid and child at home

  3. Some people desire that the priest sprinkle water on the closed doors, since they are absent.

  4. It was not possible for the priest to spend time in every house, because on an average they had to bless about 40 houses in a day. Hence it was decided by the council that next Easter, the blessing of the house will be done by the head of the family during the meals time, when all are present. However, the priest will begin visiting your houses from now itself. The zonal leader will make the arrangements and have the priest visit at least 5 houses in a week, spending quality time with the family.


The youth prayer group has opened a library with religious books, both for children and adults. Contact Mr. Patrick Corda for details.


The Training programme for the Parish Pastoral Council has been postponed to next Sunday 13th July at 10.30 a.m. and will conclude by 12.30 p.m.


The Parish Council will meet today, immediately after this Mass.


Tomorrow / today there will be a meeting of all Sunday School Catechists after the 9.30 a.m. Mass.


The Bible Cell will meet tomorrow/ today after the evening Mass.


The SCC steering committee will meet on Thursday, 10th July after the 7.00 p.m. Mass.


Next Sunday, 13th July, I would like to meet, parents of all the students who are in class X, immediately after the children’s mass, in Hall No. III.


Thanks to Mrs. Vilma Dantis and her team from Old MHB Colony, “A” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.


Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Anto Fernando and his team from Old MHB Colony ‘B’ zone.
