Parish Notices 9th November, 2008.

32nd Sunday of the Liturgical Year


Today, 9th November is the dedication day of the Lateran Basilica. It is also a day to affirm violence free families. We need to raise our voice against violence of any kind in the family.


Tomorrow / today, marks the concluding day of the Bible Awareness Week. We would like to thank Fr. Steve and all the members of the Bible Cell who have worked tirelessly to make us aware of the importance of the WORD OF GOD in our lives. They have done this through the sermons, throughout the week, Bible exhibitions, films, panel discussions and various other activities for children.


Next Sunday, 16th November, we shall resume the Children’s Mass and the Sunday School as usual.


For the feast of Christ the King, our theme will be Communal Harmony and Peace. Kindly begin thinking and preparing your banners and placards for the same. Further details will be provided in the next Sunday notices.


There will be a picnic for Altar Servers on Thursday 13th November. All the Altar Servers are requested to meet Fr. Allwyn with their cards.


There will be a rally for Communal Harmony and Peace, organized by the Bombay Catholic Sabha on Saturday, November 15th at 3.00 p.m. The rally will be held at shivaji Park, Dadar West. The rally would include citizens of all Communities in their struggle against fundamentalism, regionalism, Communalism and terrorism. Hand bills will be distributed, giving you details of the rally. You could take some extra hand bills and also distribute it to like minded members of other communities in your society. It would be an achievement that each one convinces one more to come along for the rally. “Each one bring one”. Those who are interested in going by a bus, kindly give your names to the Sabha members who are available outside the Church, after all the Masses. We shall have a collection in the bus to meet at least part of the expenses. The rest will be subsidized by the Parish. The Bus / buses will leave Don Bosco premises at 1.00 p.m.


The Bombay YWCA and YMCA will be holding the Borivli Area Prayer Meeting, a Panel Discussion on “Why to Engage in Human Rights and Biblical Perspectives”, on 10th November 2008 at 6.00 p.m. at the Pope Paul Hall, I. C. Church, Borivli West. For further details, please see the notice board.


The Rink Football tournament organized by the youth will begin from 12th November onwards. All parishioners are welcome to witness the matches being played between the best teams in the city. The tournament will have many surprise gifts for the spectators and also cafeteria. The finals will be played on the 16th November.


New MHB Colony and Eksar zones will have their Annual thanksgiving Mass on next Sunday, 16th November at 5.30 p.m. followed by a get together.


Thanks to Mrs. Luia D’souza and her team from Gorai I “B” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.


Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Lawrence Ambrose and his team from Gorai I “D” zone.

The Cancer Patients Aid Association’s gate collection amounted to Rs. 9128/-

Last Sunday’s collection was Rs. 19,105/-. God bless you for your generosity.
