28th Sunday of the Liturgical Year


Saturday, 18th October is the feast of St. Luke the evangelist.


19th October, 2008, is Mission Sunday. On this occasion, we will be having a Mission Fete with games stalls, food stalls, music, fun and frolic, in our School Hall and the adjoining compound. On this day house wives are requested to take a break from cooking at home and patronize the delicious home made, breakfast and lunch items that will be made available in the food counters. In this connection your zonal representatives will be visiting you to solicit your support in cash or kind, or sponsors for this worthy cause. The proceeds will go to mission centers in Ahmednagar. Fr. Manuel Murzello from Ahmednagar will preach at all the Masses.


We shall be having the official visit of our Provincial, Fr. Michael Fernandes on the 14th and 15th October. He will address the Parish Council on 14th October, after the evening Mass. All Parish Council members are expected to attend the meeting.


Fr. Ronnie will be celebrating his birthday on 15th October. There will be a concelebrated Mass in the evening. Let us pray in a special way for his good health and spiritual and temporal well being.


The Mission to Talasery for students of Std. VII and VIII is from Monday 20th Morning to Tuesday 21st evening. The last date for registration is the 16th of October. Kindly pick up your registration forms from the parish office.


All parishioners are requested to become members of Bombay Catholic Sabha, those eligible and who have not become members – the membership drive will be held from 4th October to 26th October. Volunteers of the Sabha will be available at all masses.


The National Catholic Charismatic Youth Council is organizing “KAIROS” which is slated to be the largest gathering of youth at Our Lady of Fatima High School, Vidhyavihar, Mumbai from 27th to 29th December, 2008. Registration for this event will start from 12th October onwards and the registration fee is Rs. 300/- per head for 3 days.


Prayas Kendra will be conducting a course in instant sweet making, i.e. without cooking, on Oct. 20th and 25th from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Kindly register your name at Prayas Kendra, before 17th Oct. 2008. For further details please see the notice board.


The Youth group will meet tomorrow / today after the 9.30 a.m. Mass.


Thanks to Mr. Agnelo Dias and his team from Eksar “A” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.


Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Cyril Miranda and his team from Eksar “B” zone.


The Bible Cells - Hindi and English - will meet this Sunday, 12th Oct. after the evening Mass.

So far our contribution to the Orrisa fund has amounted to Rs. 1,18,115/- The breakup is as follows:

Mass collection Rs. 35,085/-

First Friday collection Rs. 26,030/-

Individual contributions Rs. 57,000/-

In case some of you would like to make a personal contribution, you are welcome to do so. The last day for contribution being Monday 13th October, 2008.


Last Sunday’s collection was Rs. 19,167/-. God bless you for your generosity.
