29^th Sunday of the Liturgical Year

The Mission to Talasery for students of Std. VII and VIII is from Monday 20^th Morning to Tuesday 21^st evening. All those who are going for the Talasery Camp are expected to assemble at Don Bosco School premises by 7.00 a.m. on Monday the 20^th Oct.

The National Catholic Charismatic Youth Council is organizing “KAIROS” which is slated to be the largest gathering of youth at Our Lady of Fatima High School, Vidhyavihar, Mumbai from 27^th to 29^th December, 2008. Registration for this event will start from 12^th October onwards and the registration fee is Rs. 300/- per head for 3 days. In case any one would like to make some financial contribution towards this event, kindly do so through the Parish Office only.

“The Jesus Youth” is organizing a convention from 24^th Oct. to 27^th October. The registration fee is Rs. 400/- per head. For further details, please look up the notice board.

Tomorrow / today the 19^th Oct. there will be a Charismatic prayer meeting in our Church, beginning at 4.30 p.m. Then we shall have our Mass as usual at 5.30 p.m. preached by Fr. Manuel Murzello. Thereafter the Charismatic meeting will continue and conclude by 7.30 p.m.

Prayas Kendra will be conducting a course in instant sweet making, i.e. without cooking, on Oct. 20^th and 25^th from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Kindly register your name at Prayas Kendra. For further details please see the notice board.

On 28^th October, there will be a seminar conducted by the Archdiocesan Board of Education at St. Andrew’s Auditorium, Bandra, from 10 a.m. to 1.p.m. The Topic is “Perceiving the Educational Horizon”. It would deal with questions like:

What are the options available for my child?

Is there any Alternative to regular college?

Do we have Catholic Institutions with Degree Courses?

Is there a possibility that my child gets into a prescribed, sought after Computer Institute?

Are there vocational courses which have a high demand as regards employment? Etc. etc.

Those interested in attending, may give their names to the parish office. Those who intend to attend this seminar, should be able to communicate the knowledge acquired, either at the zonal meetings, PPC or any other group that might have questions in this regard.

The Cancer Patients Aid Association will be having a gate collection on 25^th and 26^th October, after all the Masses. Kindly cooperate with them.

Thanks to Mr. Cyril Miranda and his team from Eksar “B” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.

Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mr. Robert Machado and his team from Gorai I “A” zone.

The Bible Cell in English - will meet this Sunday, 19^th Oct. after the evening Mass.

The SCC will meet as follows:

20^th October, Jairaj Nagar, at the residence of Mr. Francis D’silva

Tomorrow / today 19^th Oct. is Mission Sunday. On this occasion we are having a Mission Fete with games and food stalls, music, fun and frolic in our School Hall. We would like you to patronize these stalls so that we can collect a substantial amount to send to the Missions of Ahmednagar. We thank Fr. Manuel Murzello who has given us an inspiring homily and told us about the difficulties and challenges of working in a mission Centre.

Last Sunday’s collection was Rs. 27,868/-. God bless you for your generosity.
