1st Sunday of Advent


Today is the first Sunday of Advent


Wednesday, 3rd Dec. is the feast of St. Francis Xavier, the Patron Saint of the Salesian Province of Mumbai.


Friday 5th December is the first Friday of the month. There will be the usual adoration and inner healing service after the evening Mass.


Once again I would like to thank all the zones for the discipline and very prayerful manner in which they participated in the Mass, procession and adoration service on the occasion of the feast of Christ the King.


Tomorrow / today there will be a Catechist’s meeting after the Sunday School. Also in the evening there will be a recollection for Catechists at St. Anne’s High School from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

On Tuesday 9th December, we shall be having a Children’s Day Celebration. This is mainly meant for children from Sunday School. Children of Std. I to IV are expected to bring crayons, note books and pencils. The programme will begin with Mass at 10.00 a.m. and will conclude at 4.00 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided.


Snehalaya Family Service Centre has sent us the dates of Marriage Preparation Courses from January to June 2009. All those planning to get married are requested to participate in a Marriage Preparation Course at least 6 months before your wedding and attend a Marriage Enrichment Programme after your wedding. For details please see the notice board.


A 2 hour awareness programme on Domestic Violence and Human Rights is being organized on 6th December 2008 in Hall no. 3, sharp at 10.30 a.m. All are invited. The main speakers will be Advocate Jaya Menon & MAVA (Men Against Violence and Abuse)


Those interested in joining the Christmas Choir, kindly give your name to Mrs. Angela D’souza, latest by 30th November.


Gorai III zone will be celebrating their annual thanksgiving Mass tomorrow / today at 5.30 p.m. followed by a get together.


Jairaj Nagar will be celebrating their annual thanksgiving Mass on next Sunday 7th December, at 5.30 p.m. followed by a get together.



The Youth group will meet tomorrow / today after the 9.30 a.m. Mass


The steering committee of the SCC will meet on Thursday, 4th December, after the evening Mass.


The Parish Council will meet on Saturday, 6th December, after the evening Mass.


A hand bill, giving details of the entire Christmas season programme is available outside the entrance of the church. Please collect one copy per family.


The Parish Priest will be away on the 2nd & 3rd December, attending the Provincial Council meeting.


Thanks to Mr. Renwick D’silva and his team from Gorai II “B” zone, for cleaning the Church this Saturday.


Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Mrs. Annette D’souza and her team from Gorai II “C” zone.


Last Sunday’s collection was Rs. 13,633/-. God bless you for your generosity.
