22nd Sunday of the Liturgical Year
On Friday, 5th September 2008 we keep the memory of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. It is also the First Friday of the month. There will the regular adoration and inner healing after the 7.00 p.m. mass.
On 5th September we also celebrate Teachers’ Day. We would like to wish all our Teachers, those who teach in the school, NIOS, Sunday School, Pre-Baptism and all those others who render voluntary service by conducting classes in slums and elsewhere.
Since our Novena is focused on the life of St. Paul, today/tomorrow we shall distribute a detailed quiz on the life of St. Paul for students of Std. IX, X and XI. Adults can also pick up the quiz from the Parish Office.
We have already begun accepting Mission Masses. Those of you who like to offer Masses are welcome to do so.
Senior citizens, i.e. those 60 and above, who would like to go to Mount Mary’s for the annual pilgrimage, kindly give your names to the Parish Office. The pilgrimage will be on Monday, 15th September 2008. The names will be taken on first come first served basis. We are grateful to a generous donor who has agreed to sponsor the entire pilgrimage. The last date for giving your name is on 7th September.
There will be a training programme for all catechists on Sunday, 7th September 2008, after Sunday School. The programme will be from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30. The resource person is from the Diocesan Pastoral Centre. We shall get a basic idea on how to teach catechism to our children.
The Diocesan Youth Centre, Bandra, is organizing a “Youth Liturgy Workshop” on Wednesday 3rd September 2008 from 4.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at Salvation Seva Kendra Hall, Dadar. For details please look up the Notice Board.
The Bible Diaries for the year 2009 have arrived. Those who have ordered and paid for them kindly collect your copies.
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on 7th September after the 8.15 a.m. Mass.
The DBYM will meet next Sunday the 7th September after the 9.30 a.m. Mass.
Thanks to Mr. James Rumao and his team from Vazira “B” zone for cleaning the Church this Saturday.
Next Saturday, the cleaning of the Church will be done by Miss Albina Mathiah and her team from Yogi South “A” zone.
Last Sunday’s collection was Rs. 18636/-. God bless you for your generosity.
